Nursery technique | Seed viability is one month. No of seeds per kg is 1000-1500 approx. (Dry wt.). Before the seeds are sown the wings are removed. The seeds are small in size, so they are sown on top of mother bed. A hay shed is prepared to cover the mother bed to protect the seeds from direct sunlight, rain and wind so that seeds do not get dibbled in earth. The medium for mother bed is prepared consisting of sand, river silt, vermicompost/cowdung in 1:1:1 proportion.
