Nursery technique | Seed is sown in lines, 20 cm apart, in February- March in South India and March- April in North India. Beds are watered regularly but lightly. Germination starts in about two weeks and takes another two weeks to complete. Weeding is done regularly; seedling are also thinned to avoid over crowding and congestion. Seedlings are fit for planting out when 3-4 months old (first rainy season); and for making stumps when 1 to 11/2 years old (second rainy season). |
