Nursery technique

Seeds are put in sacks for the pulp to get rotten for 10-15 days after which raw seeds are sown in mother bed (1:10 inch) or polypot (5:8 inch). The mother bed or medium for polypot is prepared consisting of sand, river silt, vermicompost/cowdung in 1:1:1 proportion in medium compressed method.

Planting mechanism

Seedlings of 4 inch with 3-4 leaves can be shifted from motherbed to polypot. Six months to one year old seedlings are ready for planting during rainy season. Spacing 3m x 3m. May be planted as mixed or pure crop.
