Nursery technique | Seed viability is 3-7 days. No of seeds per kg is 60-80 nos. (Dry wt.). Because of less viability of the seeds, nursery beds are prepared in advance. Seeds are collected, wings are removed and directly dibbled in polypot/mother bed. The micropyle end of seed is kept upward in the soil. The medium for polypot or mother bed is prepared consisting of sand, river silt, vermicompost/cowdung in 1:1:1 proportion. The procedure must be done in place where abundant sunlight is available. |
