Nursery technique | Seeds are sown in May, in drills, 20-25 cm apart, 5-6 mm deep. Germination starts in 4-10 days and is complete within 30 days. Regular weeding and loosening of the soil is done after germination. Seedlings may be planted out during the same year monsoon, even if quite small. 14–15-month-old seedlings are quite fit for making stumps, giving up to 98% success. 14–15-month-old seedlings in containers are also fit for avenue planting. Seedlings are thinned out if retained for the second year in the nursery.
